Representatives from CNI member organizations gather twice annually to explore new technologies, content, and applications; to further collaboration; to analyze technology policy issues, and to catalyze the development and deployment of new projects. Each member organization may send two representatives. Visit https://www.cni.org/mm/fall-2018 for more information.

I bring to librarianship a background in creative writing, history, and foreign languages. As the Humanities librarian at a Polytechnic University I collaborate with our GIS and Data Specialist and our Digital Archivist to inspire students and faculty across disciplines to approach their explorations using digital tools. This close collaboration has influenced my own recent memoir project, where data collection and cognitive mapping have, literally, changed my narrative. Quantifying discrete entities, populating spreadsheets, and engaging with maps and information visualization tools has contributed to a richer set of remembrances and has even forced a reassessment of stories I had previously told myself. Such methods have the potential for others heavily engaged in remembering and, going to the next step, in memoir.
